Pape Clement 2016 mit 96 Parker Punkten gelobtLisa Perrotti Brown am 30.11.2018

Blended of 60% Merlot. 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Pape Clement has a deep garnet-purple color and quite a serious, earthy nose with truffles, tilled soil, underbrush and smoked meats over a cassis, baked plums and redcurrants core plus a touch of lavender. Medium to full-bodied, firm and grainy, the palate is built like a brick house, supporting muscular black fruit and earthy notions and finishing very long and mineral laced.

96 Punkte Vinous | Chateau Pape Clement 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanAntonio Galloni Januar 2019:

The 2016 Pape Clément is fabulous. Racy and sumptuous in the glass, the 2016 captures the style that now characterizes Bernard Magrez's wines from his estate in Pessac. Specifically. the 2016 is wonderfully deep in the glass, and yet retains terrific freshness as well. A rush of dark cherry, plum, smoke, scorched earth, grilled herb, leather and menthol builds as the 2016 shows off its compelling, inviting personality. I would prefer to give the 2016 at least a few years in bottle to allow its full breadth of aromatics to develop. Even so, there is so much to like. Pliant, supple and super-expressive. Pape Clément is gorgeous in 2016. Tasted two times.

98 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Pape Clement 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanJames Suckling Januar 2019:

Stunning concentration of perfectly ripe blackcurrants here with a delicate whiff of vanilla oak and extremely fine tannins that are almost perfectly integrated on the seductive and delicate palate, right through the almost literally breathtaking, super-long and very polished finish. Try from 2022.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Pape Clement 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanVinous / Neal Martin Januar 2019:

The 2016 Pape Clément bursts out of the glass, offering ripe blackberry, raspberry coulis, fresh mint and hints of licorice on the well-defined nose. It is perhaps a little more opulent than its peers, but unlike in the past. I don’t find it excessive. The palate is well balanced with supple tannin. There is a killer line of acidity and real panache toward a velvety, almost Pauillac-like finish armed with shimmering black fruit laced with graphite..

From clay-rich soils opposite Troplong Mondot in the commune Saint Christophe des Bardes, the 2019 Tour Saint Christophe offers up demonstrative aromas of cherries, wild berries, sweet loamy soil, licorice and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, it's a strong effort in a crowd-pleasing style.

1 Dec, 2021 – Beautiful, intense fruit, dark-earth and chocolate character on the nose. Full-bodied with great density and plush, fine tannins that give a fine-velvet texture. It’s extremely long, polished and sophisticated. Needs time to come together, but expressive and glorious. Fantastic relative value. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Drink after 2025.

TThis estate has been delivering the goods for numerous vintages now, and the 2019 Château Tour Saint Christophe is another terrific wine. Ripe black cherries, black raspberries, graphite, new leather, and chalky minerality all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a tight, straight, focused texture, ripe yet present tannins, and outstanding length. It doesn't have the mid-palate density or opulence of the 2018, but it’s more pretty, focused, and straight on the palate. Give bottles 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

The 2019 Tour Saint Christophe builds on the promise it showed from barrel. This sample was actually tasted at my home, where I afforded it a two-hour decant. It revealed precocious yet controlled blackberry and blueberry fruit scents, with that violet component still intact. The tannins have not lost any of their grippiness or assertiveness. This is a Saint-Émilion that is in for the long haul. Great potential.

Den Chateau Fonplegade 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru verkostet Christian Balog von CB Weinhandel in Essen für Sie wie folgt: CB Weinhandel bewertet den Chateau Fonplegade 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru wie folgt:

Verkostet auf Chateau Fonplegade am 02.04.2019 Cuvee: 90 Merlot / 10Cabernet Franc. Erntezeitpunkt: Zwischen 13.

The currant and light vanilla come through on the nose with some flowers, too. It’s full-bodied with lots of rich fruit and chewy tannins that need to soften. Powerful and intense. Try after 2024.

95 Puntke vom Wine Advocate für denLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Fonplegade 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru wie folgt:

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Fonplegade needs no convincing, charging out of the gate with bold notions of black cherry preserves, mulberries and ripe, juicy black plums, leading to suggestions of Indian spices, dried roses and smoked meats plus a touch of tar. The medium to full-bodied palate is beautifully crafted, dripping with poise and sophistication, draped in plush tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering black cherry note. A very polished showing!

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Fonplegade 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru wie folgt:

The 2018 Fonplégade is super-elegant and refined. Some of the youthful exuberance the 2018 showed from barrel has naturally subsided, revealing a Saint-Émilion of real finesse and nuance. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, blood orange and cinnamon are all beautifully layered. Even so, the 2018 was a bit more impressive en primeur. Hopefully, it is just closed post-bottling. We will see.

The 2016 Pindefleurs offers good immediacy in a ripe, racy yet mid-weight style. Sweet red cherry, new oak, spice and white chocolate add to the wine's distinctly flamboyant flavor and textural profile. Medium in body and wonderfully persistent, the 2016 has a lot to offer. Bright floral notes add perfume to this engaging, creamy Saint-Émilion. Élevage has done quite a bit to give the wine balance. Specifically. the oak is now far better integrated than it was en primeur. Tasted two times.

The 2016 Pindefleurs is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. It has a well-defined and harmonious bouquet that dishes out some wonderful black cherry and redcurrant fruit, the new oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, beautifully balanced with a structured, tobacco-tinged finish that is almost Médoc-like in style. 100 Punkte Auszeichnung von Jeb DunnuckThe 2018 Château Larcis Ducasse checks in as 89% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc that comes from a gorgeous hillside terroir on the Côte Pavie, located between Château Pavie and Château Bellefont-Belcier. Aged 18 months in 60% new barrels, it offers a truly sensational bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, espresso roast, scorched earth, bloody meat, chocolate, iron, and bouquet garni. A massive, super-rich Saint-Emilion with a dense, concentrated, layered mouthfeel, it has building yet sweet tannins and incredible purity of fruit. Reminding me of the 2005 shortly after release, this heavenly juice offers astonishing richness and depth while staying flawlessly balanced and elegant. Sadly, there are less than 3,000 cases produced, but this monumental, legendary wine won't hit maturity for a good 8-10 years and will have 40-50 years of longevity if well stored. Hats off to Nicolas Thienpont and consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt for producing one of the wines of the vintage as well as one of the greatest young Bordeaux I've ever tasted.

96 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Larcis Ducasse needs a fair bit of swirling to unlock notes of crushed blackberries, plum preserves and boysenberries with suggestions of black truffles, tapenade and crushed rocks coming through, building to a subtle underlying perfume of roses and cloves. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits and loads of savory sparks, framed by firm, slightly chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy.

The 2018 Larcis Ducasse is one of the real overachievers of the vintage. Richness and classicism meld together in a Saint-Émilion that dazzles from the very first taste. Rich dark fruit, mocha, licorice, espresso and leather all open in the glass. Time brings out bright acids and that firm spice of Larcis tannin. More than that, though, Larcis impresses with its exquisite balance and class. It is easily one of the most undervalued wines on the Right Bank. Don't let its modest price fool you. Larcis is one the most compelling wines of the vintage. Don't miss it!

Medium to full-bodied, the palate has achingly plush tannins and fantastic freshness framing the spicy black fruit and mineral layers, finishing long and so, so fragrant. Wow—just stunning!

The 2018 Pavie Macquin was impressive out of barrel. It has retained its opulent bouquet, perhaps becoming even more luxuriant and plush, offering copious black cherries, cassis and violet aromas and hints of vanilla pod and iodine in the background. The palate is where this really impresses, because its opulence is effortlessly counterbalanced by a bead of acidity that imparts freshness and tension. This is a multilayered Pavie-Macquin endowed with tremendous length on the aftertaste. Even after 60 seconds I can still feel this Saint-Émilion lapping upon my senses. Superb.

The 2018 Canon is every bit as magnificent from bottle as it was from barrel. Maybe more so. Vertical and explosive in the glass, Canon sizzles with tension and vibrancy. Readers will find a majestic, soaring Grand Cru Classé that captures all the magic of Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau. Canon exudes mind-blowing precision and deliciousness. It is another magnificent effort from Technical Director Nicolas Audebert and his team.

98 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Canon 2018 Saint EmilionJeb Dunnuck bewertet den Chateau Canon 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

The Grand Vin is the 2018 Château Canon, which is based on 72% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc brought up in 52% new French oak. Its incredible bouquet delivers richness paired with amazing freshness and precision, offering loads of crème de cassis and darker berry fruits intermixed with classic Saint-Emilion chalky minerality, graphite, scorched earth, and spring flowers. Gorgeous on the palate as well, with medium to full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannins, flawless balance, and again, this wonderful sense of freshness paired with ample richness, it needs 4-5 years of bottle age and will evolve for 30+ years. The 2009 and 2015 are still my favorite vintages of this wine, but this is up there with the best of them.

Chateau Pape Clement rouge 2015 mit 99 Punkten bei James SucklingJames Suckling beschreibt den Chateau Pape Clement 2015 wie folgt:

The clarity to this wine is impressive. Wealth of dark-plum and black-fruit essence not to mention orange citrus. Everything is dialed up to the limit here but then dialed in on the palate. Such impressive depth and suave, ripe, fluid tannins that deliver impressive length. Great wine. Such polish. Superb. Try from 2022.

20 Punkte vom Weinwisser für den Chateau Pape Clement 2015Rene Gabriel beschreibt den Chateau Pape Clement 2015 wie folgt:

50 % Cabernet Sauvignon. 47 % Merlot. 2 % Petit Verdot. 1 % Cabernet Franc.

One of the stars of the vintage, the 2015 Pape Clément is fabulous. Dark and beautifully resonant, it captures all the natural radiance of the year in the Pape Clément style. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, mocha, chocolate, new leather and spice effortlessly fill out the wine's ample frame. Soft contours and an open-knit, inviting personality are just two of the reasons the Pape Clément is going to be virtually impossible to resist, even in the early going. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Tasted two times.

Chateau Pape Clement 2015 mit 96 Parker PunktenLisa Perrotti Brown beschreibt den Chateau Pape Clement 2015 am 21.02.2018 wie folgt:

The 2015 Pape Clement is blended of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon. 40% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. matured in 80% new and 20% one-year-old French oak barrels for 18 months. Medium to deep garnet-purple, it opens with profound notes of crushed red and black currants, black cherries and cassis with touches of mocha, baking spices, menthol and lavender plus a hint of new leather. Medium-bodied, firm and concentrated with tons of tightly wound black fruit and earth layers, it has a grainy frame and refreshing lift on the long finish.

Seductive. The nose draws you in deep: It’s like staring into a well of pristine dark cherries. dark plums. blackberries and mulberries. All the oak is perfectly subsumed. The palate’s flawless with immense depth and power and it’s so balanced as to appear to float. Immaculate fresh dark-berry and plum flavors. Silky and deep. ribbon-like finish. Perfect.

Composed of 72% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc and aged for 18 months in 70% new and 30% one-year-old barrels. the 2015 Canon is boldly fruited with blackberry preserves. black cherry compote. fruitcake. mocha and plum preserves with suggestions of Indian spices. licorice and black olives. Full-bodied and packed with ripe. rich dried berries and exotic spice layers. it has a firm. slightly chewy structure and just enough freshness (the pH is 3.78). finishing long and savory. Give it another 2-3 years of cellaring to soften its edges and allow its flavor spectrum to fully emerge. and drink it over the next 20 to 25+ years.

Chateau Canon 2015 1er Grand Cru Classe B Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Canon 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

From the very beginning. the 2015 Canon has made an eloquent case for itself as one of the wines of the vintage. Multiple tastings from bottle only confirm what several early tastings hinted at: the 2015 Canon is simply extraordinary in every way. Sumptuous and exotic. with no hard edges and exceptional balance. the 2015 grabs hold of all the senses and never lets up. A rush of red fruit intermingled with floral notes. spice and smoke notes effortlessly runs up the wine's vertical structure as the 2015 thrills with every twist and turn. The 2015 Canon is a rare wine that is both hedonistic and intellectual - well. maybe it is a bit more hedonistic-leaning. It doesn't matter. Don't miss it. This 2015 is masterpiece from General Manager Nicolas Auderbert and his team at Canon.

Belair Monange 2015 mit 98+ Punkten bei Robert ParkerLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Belair Monange 2015 am 21.02.2018 wie folgt:
This perhaps somewhat controversial marriage between the estates of Chateau Belair and Chateau Magdelaine — both Premier Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion estates — to form Chateau Bélair Monange hits pay-dirt with this spectacular 2015 release. Composed of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Belair Monange has the most singular nose of grilled meats, smoked game. iron ore and fallen leaves over a slowly unfurling ripe fruit core of crushed black plums, blackberry preserves and cassis with fragrant touches of star anise and potpourri. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, the palate reveals an arresting backbone of exquisitely ripe, very firm tannins and sparks of background acidity lifting and defining the rich, densely packed layers, culminating in an epically long and multifaceted finish. Possessing its own compellingly beautiful signature, this is a remarkably riveting wine that should not be missed.

Chateau Belair Monange 2015 Saint Emilion mit 98 Punkten bei VinousAntonio Galloni bewertet den Belair Monange 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:
A huge, intense Saint-Émilion, the Bélair-Monange is just as impressive from bottle as it was from cask. That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that the wine is going to need at least a decade to shed some of its considerable baby fat. A rush of super-ripe black cherry, game, smoke and tobacco hits the palate as this dramatic, unrestrained Saint-Émilion shows off its explosive personality. The 2015 speaks with an assertive voice that demands attention – and it got mine. that’s for sure. The blend is 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.

JG 2018 in der Magnum

Haut Tropchaud 2018 Pomerol

This is a more layered and juicy wine with a soft and round tannin texture. Walnuts and chocolate. Full-bodied, gentle and welcoming to taste. Chocolate and coffee undertones. Subtle and lightly decadent. Better than I remember. Drink or hold.

94 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Clos L Eglise 2015 MagnumNeal Martin bewertet den Clos L Eglise 2015 Pomerol

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Clos l'Eglise has a very earthy nose of black soil, truffles and mossy bark over a core of kirsch, blackberry preserves and dried mulberries with wafts of rose hips and oolong tea. Full-bodied, richly fruited and packed with savory layers, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy.

Also; let's see in 10 years.

A blend of 92% Merlot. 7.5% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Petit Verdot, the 2015 la Fleur-Petrus is a little reticent on the nose to begin, offering up beguiling notes of tilled soil. black olives, charcuterie and dried Provence herbs over a core of preserved plums, black cherries and black raspberries with touches of tar and new leather. Full-bodied, rich, plush and seductive in the mouth, it finishes with persistent, slowly revealing earthy/savory layers, which will keep you reaching for another glass.

The 2015 La Fleur-Pétrus is a magical wine. Soaring aromatics, beautifully layered, translucent fruit and exceptional balance are the signatures. Hints of orange peel, white pepper and rose petal add an exotic flair. A wine of total harmony, the 2015 offers superb intensity and structure to play off the natural richness of the year. A dollop of Petit Verdot rounds out the blend. The 2015 is like a full-on orchestra where all the instruments are clearly heard but also come together in unison to create a wall of sound that is overwhelming in its beauty.
