92 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint EmilionDen Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
92 The 2020 Trotte Vieille opens in the glass with aromas of sweet dark berries, violets and licorice framed by a generous application of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with impressive depth at the core, it's nicely balanced but a little wrapped up in firm, seemingly barrel-derived tannins. Improvements are underway in the vineyards, but for now, the élevage would appear to be this estate's weak link.

98 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
98 The 2020 Château Trotte Vieille has closed down since I tasted it as a barrel sample in 2021 and needs lots of air, but this is an incredibly gorgeous wine. Its dense purple hue is followed by powerful, inward bouquet of ripe, incredibly pure black and blue fruits, smoky oak, tons of minerality, and a kiss of violets that takes lots of air to shine. The palate is similar in style, with a concentrated, focused, almost austere edge that carries beautiful tannins, awesome extract, flawless overall balance, and a great finish. While it's unquestionably a brilliant wine, it's not for those looking for instant gratification and is much more reserved than the 2019 at this stage. Hide bottles for 7-8 years, and it should have 25 to 30 years of overall longevity.

98-99 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020James Suckling zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
Fantastic texture and structure to this wine with firm, silky tannins that go on and on. Love the crushed blackberries, blueberries and salt. Floral and mineral character, too. Full and tight with great length. Chewy at the very end, indicating real structure. All about structure and length. 50% cabernet franc, 49% merlot, and 1% cabernet sauvignon.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020NEAL MARTIN zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
The 2020 TrotteVieille is quite broody and backward on the nose at first, demanding 15–20 minutes to open. It then reveals blackberry, sea spray/marine scents and hints of crushed chalk and pencil box. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a firm structure, indicating that this is a Saint-Émilion that should be cellared for several years. There is a lovely touch of white pepper and allspice toward the finish. I suspect this is a TrotteVieille that will reward the patient.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020GALLONI zum zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
The 2020 Trotte Vieille is laced with inky, jammy dark fruit, licorice and bittersweet chocolate. This heady, potent Saint-Émilion is not exactly subtle, but it does offer tons of intensity in an opulent, heady style. The only thing missing is a bit of midpalate pliancy and overall persistence.

99 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Belair Monange 2020 Saint EmilionJames Suckling im März 2023:

Intense aromas of wet earth, limestone cellars and dark fruits such as currants and blackberries. Then turns to flowers. Black truffles, too. Licorice. Gravel. Full-bodied with a solid palate of tannins that melt into the wine. It’s sleek and muscular with fantastic length and presence. Reminds me of great old Belairs from the 1950s. Cool wine. 98% merlot and 2% cabernet franc. Give it six to eight years of time. Best after 2028.

98 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für denJeb Dunnuck Ende März 2023:

The Grand Vin 2020 Château Belair-Monange is also 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc that's a blend of the upper limestone plateau and the more clay heavy soils on the hillside. Very much in the tight, structured style of the vintage, its dense purple hue is followed by a great nose of ripe black cherries, black raspberries, dried flowers, loamy earth, and camphor, with a beautiful sense of minerality. Opening up with time in the glass, it's full-bodied, has a deep, layered mouthfeel, gorgeous overall balance, and a great finish. It offers pleasure today but will benefit from 7-8 years of bottle age and will be a 30+ year wine.

The 2020 Belair Monange has also turned out nicely in bottle, wafting from the glass with aromas of rich cherries, plums, sweet spices, rose petals and creamy new oak. Full-bodied, rich and layered, it remains fresh despite its ripe, sun-kissed profile, and its generous payload of tannin helps to integrate its rather lofty level of alcohol. This is a success in its demonstrative, modern style.

94 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Belair Monange 2020 Saint EmilionJames Molsworth beschreibt ihn im Januar 2023 wie folgt:

A classically styled, slightly austere Bordeaux, with a chalky spine that helps drive red and black currant and plum puree notes along, all while light alder, dried rose petal and light tobacco notes fill in the background. Refined and focused through the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2030 through 2040. 5,250 cases made, 600 cases imported. –JM

Chateau Cheval Blanc 2020 Saint Emilion

A blend of equal parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot (the last time it was this blend was in 2010), the 2020 Château Ausone spent 20 months in new French oak, which has already been just about completely absorbed by this beauty. In comparison to the Chapelle d'Ausone, the Grand Vin is tighter and straighter, with an incredible yet primordial bouquet of red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with notions of iron, smoked tobacco, and graphite, with a liqueur of rocks-like sense of minerality. Dense purple-hued, full-bodied, backward, incredibly concentrated, and powerful, it has building tannins, a dense, stacked mid-palate, and enough structure and baby fat to warrant a solid decade of bottle age. This is a powerful Ausone built for the long haul, and it will unquestionably rank with the greats from the Vauthier family.

The flowers in the nose are spectacular with violets, lavender, and honeysuckle. Then there’s wet stone and freshly cut limestone. Plus there’s raspberries and blueberries. The palate is full-bodied yet very tight and reserved, with fine tannins that run the length of the wine as well as hints of cedar, sandalwood and vanilla bean. It’s long and very racy and complex. Needs eight to 10 years of bottle age to open and come together. Try after 2032.

Vom Falstaff-Magazin mit 97-99 Punkten bewertet
Anfangs wenig offen. Etwas Amarenakirsche. Pfeffrige Noten.

Tasted on multiple occasions, the 2020 Château Badette comes from a tiny 7.58-hectare vineyard located on iron and clay soils. The blend is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, and the élevage spanned 16 months in 80% new barrels. It has a gorgeous nose of blueberries, cassis, spring flowers, and chocolaty oak. This carries to a medium to full-bodied Saint-Emilion with ripe, integrated tannins, the vintage's pure, focused profile, and a great finish. This brilliant effort will shine for 15-20+ years from cold cellars.

The 2020 Badette is a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, aging for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, 100% new. The alcohol is 15%. Opaque purple-black colored, the 2020 Badette erupts from the glass with bombastic notes of baked blackberries, plum preserves and kirsch, followed by hints of cedar chest, Chinese five spice, tar and licorice, plus a touch of eucalyptus. The full-bodied palate is full-on rich and decadent, featuring layers of black fruit preserves and exotic spices with a firm, grainy texture and plenty of freshness to support, finishing long and opulent.

91-93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Badette 2020Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Badette:
The 2020 Badette a property owned by Belgian Marc Vandenbogaerde, offers plenty of intense brambly red berry fruit on the nose laced with rose petal and violet - lots of chutzpah here. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red and black fruit, slightly powdery tannins with good depth and harmony. Gentle grip on the finish with fine persistence, this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru has a lot of potential and well worth seeking out.

Coming from Denis Barraud's tiny 4.52-hectare vineyard planted on gravelly, sandy soils, the 2020 Château Les Gravières offers a darker, richer, medium to full-bodied style as well as notes of black cherries, plums, toasted spice, and tobacco. Made from 100% Merlot that spent 14 months in 60% new French oak, it has beautiful integration of its fruit, tannins, and acidity, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's well worth seeking out and has a solid decade of prime drinking ahead of it.

The 2020 Les Gravières is a powerful, bold Saint-Émilion loaded with intense mineral and savory notes that play off a core of inky dark fruit. Blueberry jam, gravel, smoke, lavender, licorice and cloves add gravitas. Les Gravières is another impressive wine in the trio of 2020s I tasted from proprietor Denis Barraud. I very much like the vibrancy and tension here. Tasted two times.

Die Degustationsnotiz des Wine Advocate zum Chateau Pavie 2020 Saint Emilion :

Composed of 50% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Franc and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2020 Pavie weighs in with an alcohol of 14.82% and a pH of 3.61. It is aging in French oak barriques, 75% new. Opaque purple-black colored, notes of plum pudding, blueberry pie and dark chocolate-covered cherries charge out of the gate, followed closely by hints of eucalyptus, star anise, unsmoked cigars and fertile loam with a hint of cedar chest. The full-bodied palate is built like a brick house, offering very firm yet wonderfully ripe, velvety tannins and seamless freshness to support the densely laden, muscular black and blue fruits, finishing very long and with loads of mineral-laced layers. As hedonic as it is cerebral this year, it is a beautiful paradox.

99-100 Suckling-Punkte für den Chateau Pavie 2020
James Suckling schreibt zum Chateau Pavie 2020 Saint Emilion Folgendes:

The aromas are already exceptional, showing crushed-stone, limestone and salt character to the dark fruit and bark. It’s full-bodied, yet agile. Floats on the palate, then kicks in with loads of ultra fine tannins. The intensity and verve of this wine promises true greatness.

95-97 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Pavie 2020
Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Pavie:

The 2020 Pavie was picked September 21–30 at 31hl/ha and matured in 75% new oak, the rest one year old. It continues to see greater emphasis on Cabernets – 34% Franc and 16% Sauvignon, the Merlot reduced to half the blend. This gradual rejigging of the blend is borne out on the nose, which features hints of damp loamy soil and bell pepper infusing vivid blackberry and wild strawberry fruit, becoming more and more citrusy with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sautéed tannins that gently grip. Powerful, but the 14.82° alcohol is neatly disguised on the finish (at least in tasting measure) with fine delineation. Cohesive and focused. I would like to see a little more personality develop during élevage, but this remains an impressive Saint-Émilion and a Pavie with a long future ahead.

The 2020 Pavie Macquin is performing well in bottle, unwinding in the glass with aromas of sweet raspberries and cherries mingled with notions of orange zest, violets, spices, bay leaf and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and fleshy, its ample core of fruit framed by youthfully firm, chalky tannins. As usual, it's more structured than Larcis Ducasse, and it remains a bottling that will demand some patience, even if the Thienpont team have subtly eased off on extraction over the last few vintages, a welcome trend that I hope will be pushed further.

96+ Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilionbeschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:

The dense purple-hued 2020 Château Pavie Macquin checks in as a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from yields of 31 hectoliters per hectare and a selection of 85% of the production. Incredibly pure cassis and blueberry fruits as well as complex spring flowers, liquid violets, white truffle, and a liqueur of limestone-like minerality define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with ultra-fine tannins, the vintage's pure, focused, structured profile, and a great finish. As in most vintages, this beauty is not for instant gratification and needs 7-8 years, if not a decade of cellaring to show its potential. It's another true vin de garde from the team of Nicolas Thienpont (Stéphane Derenoncourt also consults) that readers will love to have in their cellar.
