Lisa Perrotti Brown im März 2020:The 2017 Marquis d'Alesme Becker is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot. 6% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color. it has a very serious. classic nose of warm cassis. cedar chest. pencil lead and fragrant earth with wafts of violets and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied. it has a solid backbone of firm. ripe. grainy tannins and a muscular mid-palate of tightly wound layers. delivering lovely purity and great length.

Black cherry. plum. crème de cassis. tobacco. leather. menthol. espresso and tobacco accents add to the wine's decidedly potent feel. Ample and creamy on the palate. the 2017 shows the important presence of Merlot in the blend. which among other things. gives a real sense of immediacy.

The palate is medium-bodied and intense with very firm. grainy tannins and fantastic freshness. finishing with great length and depth.

It has a very pure bouquet with black cherries. blueberry and violet aromas that are detailed and pure. This is quite a sophisticated Margaux and it manifests more and more complexity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple black fruit laced with spice and white pepper. This feels very cohesive with impressive weight in the mouth. good grip with a dense. almost sinewy finish that is determined to make an impression. This is a very fine Margaux that deserves four or five years in bottle. -Neal Martin-
Wir bewerten den Marquis d´Alesme 2017 wie folgt: Die kleine Perle in der Appellation Margaux liegt in direkter Nachbarschaft zu Palmer und Chateau Margaux. seine Konzentration ist von mittel bis mittel plus. Die Nase zeigt reife dunkle Frucht. schöne Würze. Schokolade und zartes Zedernholz. etwas weisser Pfeffer. und eine sehr schöne und kühle mentholfrische im Hintergrund. Sehr guter kraftvoller Körper. strukturiert und dennoch mit einem feinen Schliff. Im Vergleich zu den zwei Jahren zuvor wird dies ein frischer. und eleganter Stil. im Vergleich in der Appellationgehört er aber zu den kraftvolleren. dank Michel Rolland. was ganz und gar nicht negativ gemeint ist. 92-94 Ein aufsteigender STERN !
