6 Dec, 2021 – This is a solid Pauillac with a medium to full body and chewy tannins that are polished and energetic . Plenty of blackcurrant, lemon and wet-earth character. A little tight at the end. Needs at least three or four years of bottle age to open. Will age very nicely.

The 2019 Lynch-Moussas is a wild, potent wine. Dark red cherry, iron, smoke, espresso, licorice, leather and mint convey intensity and virile power. The 2019 is deep and fleshy, at times a bit rustic too, but long on character. I would give it a few years in bottle first.

The 2019 Lynch-Moussas, in an embossed bottle to celebrate a century of ownership by the Castèja family, has an understated bouquet of blackberry, briar, tobacco and touches of pencil shaving, and still that touch of mint. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, good backbone, firm grip and much more substance on the finish compared to previous vintages, that tincture of Earl Grey coming through with time. This is an excellent, classically styled Pauillac.

A rather rich, dramatic rendition of this estate, the 2019 Lynch-Moussas bursts with aromas of dark berry fruit, pencil shavings and toasty new oak. Full-bodied, ample and muscular, with a fleshy core of fruit, succulent acids and ripe, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish, it will reward a bit of bottle age with flamboyant drinking.

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Floral unterlegte Cassisnuancen, reife schwarze Herzkirschen, ein Hauch von Nougat, feine Edelholznuancen. Saftig, süße Brombeerfrucht, reife Tannine, etwas Nougat, mineralisch und gut anhaftend, ein saftiger Speisenbegleiter mit gutem Entwicklungspotenzial.
