Chateau Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse 2016 mit 97 Parker Punkten ausgezeichnetLisa Perrotti Brown 30. November 2018
Deep garnet-purple colored. the 2016 Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse) slips seductively out of the glass with perfumed scents of candied violets. chocolate-covered cherries. lavender and baked plums with nuances of redcurrants. forest floor. mossy bark and new leather. Medium to full-bodied. the palate has bags of grace and finesse with a super fine-grained frame and lovely freshness lifting the intense. perfumed fruits to a very long. mineral-tinged finished. Gorgeous.

99 Punkte Vinous / Galloni für den Chateau Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse 2016 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni bewertet den BDHL 2016 im Januar 2019 wie folgt:
The 2016 Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse has come together beautifully since I last tasted it. Nearly seamless in the glass. the 2016 is rich. unctuous and potent. with all of its elements in the right place. Nothing really sticks out. Instead. I am simply blown away by the wine's intensity. explosive power and overall pedigree. Time in the glass brings out hints of graphite. smoke. cured meats. licorice and dark spices. but it is the wine's balance that is most impressive today. In 2016. Nicolas Thienpont and his team crafted a Beauséjour of mind-boggling intensity and purity. Tasted three times.

98 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse 2016James Suckling Januar 2019:

Chateau Canon 2016 mit 98+ Punkten bei Robert ParkerLisa Perrotti Brown 30. November 2018

Composed of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc and aged for 18 months in 70% new French barriques. the 2016 Canon is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. and—WOW—it opens with the most stunning perfume of violets. red roses and kirsch. giving way to a core of black cherry preserves. chocolate box. licorice. warm plums and Chinese five spice plus an earthy waft of underbrush. Medium to full-bodied. the palate is completely filled with expressive. perfumed black berry layers accented by lively red fruits and exotic spices. supported by impressively fine-grained tannins and fantastic tension. finishing very long with jaw-dropping energy. Tasted three times. I had one opportunity to taste the 2015 and 2016 Canon side by side. While I love the bold. rich. seductive nature of the 2015. this 2016 kicks it up a notch in terms of polish. precision. depth and persistence. Most notably. the superbly ripe. exquisitely fine-grained tannins on this 2016 bring to the table a whole other level of sophistication. Bravo!

97 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Canon 2016 Saint EmilionNeal Martin Verkostungsnotiz aus Januar 2019:

The 2016 Canon has the unenviable task of following the astonishing 2015. and it does a damn good job. even if it doesn’t reach the same ethereal heights. There is a pleasing strictness and poise on the nose; this is less immediate than the 2015. yet intellectual. a Canon that expresses its terroir rather than tons of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. a fine bead of acidity. a smooth texture and a slightly savory but persistent finish. which feels a little plusher than the 2015. implying that this might drink a little earlier. But there is unquestionably immense breeding locked into this rejuvenated Saint-Émilion. which is now firmly ensconced among the top-flight Right Banks.

The 2016 Bélair-Monange is easily the most closed of all of J-P Moueix’s wines when I taste them together. It is stubbornly tight in the glass and then coquettishly unfurls mineral-rich red berry fruit mixed with rose petals; the perfume is captivating. The palate is well balanced. with velvety tannin and perfectly judged acidity. and very. very harmonious. More and more black fruit seems to join the chorus line toward the finish. which fans out gloriously. demonstrating superlative persistence. The best Bélair-Monange to date. and an accomplished. riveting Saint-Émilion. (tasted December 2018)

Chateau Figeac 2016 mit 97+ Parker Punkten bewertetLisa Perrotti Brown 30. November 2018

The 2016 Figeac is comprised of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon. 36% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored. the nose is a little broody and reticent at this very youthful stage. slowly unfolding to reveal profound plum preserves. crème de cassis. black raspberries and star anise with hints of moss-covered bark. truffles and tilled loam plus a waft of red currants and raspberry leaves sparks. Medium to full-bodied. the palate is practically quivering with energy. offering glimpses at tightly wound black fruit and mineral/ferrous layers. framed by very firm. ripe tannins and wonderful tension. finishing long with the spices coming through. This will need a good 7-8 years to come round and then should cellar for 40+ years. Very serious. beautifully poised and sophisticated personality this vintage.

“There was a little more water stress in 2016 than in 2018.” Frédéric Faye mentioned. “The cooler nights here helped us to avoid too much water stress this year. We are not de-leafing a lot now—just on one side to expose the grapes to the morning sun. but we do not de-leaf on the afternoon sun side. where it can get very hot.” Figeac continues along its upward trajectory in terms of heights of greatness and consistency. Faye has adeptly managed to maintain the energy in the wines that is a signature of Figeac while revealing more layers. polishing the tannins and. ultimately. offering slightly more muscle to the fruit core. Once his considerable efforts in the vineyards really kick in and the new winery is completed. I am incredibly excited to see what the future holds for this historic. truly special place.

98+ Punkte bei Vinous für den Chateau Figeac 2016 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni Januar 2019:

The 2016 Figeac is simply extraordinary. A wine of pure energy and vitality. the 2016 pulses with a real sense of drive. Lavender. mint. crème de cassis and cedar start to develop in the glass. but what is most remarkable about the 2016 is its total sense of harmony. There is natural tension. a sort of push and pull. between the wine's intense fruit and structural underpinnings that makes the 2016 a marvel to taste and contemplate. It was positively stunning in two separate tastings. Technical Director Frédéric Faye and his team made an epic Figeac in 2016.

98 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanVerkostungsnotiz vom 30. November 2018:
Composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon. 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot and matured in 60% new oak for 18 months, the 2016 Smith Haut Lafitte has a very deep garnet-purple color, opening with sensuous scents of warm black cherries, blackberry pie. star anise and fragrant lilacs with hints of chocolate box, cigar box and pencil lead plus wafts of truffles and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, rich and seductive, it completely fills the palate with perfumed black berry preserves and superbly plush tannins, finishing epically long and beautifully layered.

98 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanVerkostungsnotiz aus Januar 2019:
The 2016 Smith Haut Lafitte is flat out stunning. Rich, ample and explosive, the 2016 possesses tremendous energy and tension to play off the wine's dark, rich fruit. I am not sure I have ever tasted a young Smith Haut Lafitte with such extraordinary balance. In 2016, the Grand Vin is tense and pulsing with energy. Hints of lavender, spice, menthol and crème de cassis open up in the glass, but the 2016 stands out for its feel and exceptional harmony. The combined effects of picking a bit early, vinifiying more gently and reducing the impact of oak are having a profound effect at Smith Haut Lafitte. Thinking of some of the highly regarded wines of the last decade here, the 2009 and 2010 in particular, well, the 2016 is on another level. This is magnificent showing from proprietors Florence and Daniel Cathiard, and their team led by Technical Director Fabien Teitgen.

97 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanVerkostungsbericht vom 03. Februar 2019:
The blackcurrant and blueberry aromas are lifted and beautiful. Lots of flowers, too. together with some mushroom and dried-flower undertones. Full-bodied with firm and very silky tannins giving a lovely texture. Bright acidity lifts the finish and gives it drive and force. Better after 2025.

Just the right amount of acidity and phenolic grip at the end. From organically grown grapes farmed sustainably. Almost all sauvignon blanc with a touch of semillion. Drink or hold.

The 2015 La Tour Martillac has a gorgeous. complex nose. subtle pear and green apple scents. a whiff of the old sea spray coming in from the Atlantic. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity. very complex in the mouth with lip-smacking salinity towards the finish. What a fabulous white Bordeaux from the estate. certainly one of the best that I have ever encountered.

The white is the star of the show at Latour-Martillac and the 2015 Blanc is a rich, incredibly mineral-driven beauty that gives up lots of buttered citrus, honeysuckle, crushed rock and tropical fruit. It’s crisp and vibrant on the palate, yet has building richness, as well as excellent concentration.

100 Punkte vom Falstaff für den Der Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 Pauillac am Gaumen der Falstaff-Verköstiger:
Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

The aromas to this are really amazing, with a potpourri of spices and dried flowers, as well as redcurrants, sweet plums and even some peaches. Full-bodied with layers of ripe fruit and ultra-fine tannins that spread across the palate in an encompassing yet always elegant and pure way. It’s succulent and unadulterated. Like crushed, perfectly ripened grapes. The length is rather endless. The tannins build. Fabulous young red. 35% in amphora and the rest in 50% new oak and 15% one-year oak. 65% cabernet sauvignon and 30% merlot, the rest cabernet franc and petit verdot. From biodynamically grown grapes. Try after 2028, but an absolute joy to taste now.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 PauillacAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 Pauillac:
The 2019 Pontet-Canet was so effusive and generous en primeur. Today, though, it is quite reticent. That won't be an issue for those who can be patient, but patience indeed will be the key here. Dark red fleshed fruit, tobacco, cedar, spice, kirsch, mint and blood orange gradually open with a bit of coaxing. Imposing tannins wrap it all together. The 2019 is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty, but it needs time.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 PauillacUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 Pauillac:
The 2019 Pontet Canet was picked from September 23 until October 10, finishing with the Petit Verdot, and bottled in mid-June/July. My sample, tasted at the property, was decanted. Matured in 50% new oak and 35% concrete amphora, this is endowed with an intense, enveloping bouquet of opulent blackberry and boysenberry fruit laced with crushed violet and light fig aromas, becoming more floral with aeration and revealing crushed violet petals. The palate is medium-bodied with layered black fruit, cracked black pepper, hints of pencil lead and a splash of soy. This is one of the most powerful Pauillac wines that I encountered this vintage, very juicy and with plenty of rondeur on the very spicy finish. This should give three decades of drinking pleasure.

94 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 PauillacFür den Wine Spectator verköstigte James Molesworth den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 Pauillac:
Very lush out of the gate, with waves of gently mulled plum, blackberry and black currant fruit that roll through slowly, lined with alder, sweet tobacco, worn cedar and singed savory notes. Delivers a late tug of iron that's well-buried on a finish marked by lingering perfume, resulting in an end impression of a rich wine that's very light on its feet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2036.

97 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Canon 2017 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Canon 2017 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
Showing spectacularly, the 2017 Chateau Canon checks in as a final blend of 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc that’s from one of the most exceptional terroirs in the appellation. Hitting 14% alcohol (the pH is 3.66), it reveals a ruby/purple hue as well as gorgeously sweet raspberries and cassis-like fruit interwoven with notes of spring flowers, rose petal, white chocolate, and spice. While it doesn’t have the massive opulence of the 2015 and 2016, it’s more classically styled as well flawlessly balanced, with a terrific sense of minerality, ultra-fine tannins, and a brilliant finish. Give bottles 5-7 years in the cellar, and it will evolve gracefully for 30-40 years. Hats off to Nicolas Audebert as well as the team of Thomas Duclos for one of the wines of the vintage!
