Der 2023 Capbern bietet Aromen von Cassis und dunklen Beeren, die sich mit Lakritze und Gewürzen vermischen. Mittel- bis vollmundig, fleischig und vielschichtig, mit guter Tiefe und Konzentration, basiert er auf lebhaften Säuren und pudrigen Tanninen.

Es gibt Klarheit und Frische in diesem Wein, mit knackiger dunkler Frucht, Zedernholz und Brombeere. Er ist mittelkräftig, rassig und fein. Bleistiftspitze am Ende. Präziser als 2022.

Der 2023 Capbern ist ein opulenter, sinnlicher Wein. Saftige dunkle Pflaume, Gewürze, Mokka, Kiesel und Weihrauch werden alle in diesem rassigen, wunderbar einladenden Saint-Estèphe verstärkt. Weiche, geschmeidige Tannine runden das Ganze stilvoll ab. Leser, die einen erschwinglichen Wein suchen, den sie in den nächsten 10-12 Jahren trinken können, werden diesen lieben. Ausgezeichnet.

Von dem Team von Calon Ségur stammend, ist der 2023 Château Capbern ein fantastischer Saint-Estèphe und zeigt die Stärke des Médoc in diesem Jahrgang. Cassis, Pflaumen, geräucherter Tabak und Graphit prägen das Aroma, und er ist mittel- bis vollmundig mit einem runden, geschichteten Mundgefühl und wunderschönen Tanninen. Ich liebe die allgemeine Reinheit der Frucht, und es ist eine reife, verführerische, aber makellos ausgewogene Schönheit, die sich direkt von Anfang an gut trinken lässt und auch elegant altern wird.

The 2018 Capbern is expressive. nuanced and inviting. with lovely upfront fruit. In 2018. Capbern is a bit compact and tightly wound. but it also has a good deal of persistence. The Cabernet is quite marked in the 2018. which is not a bad thing. it just means the wine is going to need time to be at its best. What really stands out. though. is the push and pull between the bright aromatics that this cool. clay-rich soil helped give in 2018. and the ripe. radiant fruit of the warm summer. That interplay makes for an absolutely compelling wine. Red cherry fruit. mint. dried flowers. cedar and tobacco add aromatic nuance to this highly expressive. vibrant Saint-Estèphe. The blend is 62% Cabernet Sauvignon. 37% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Tasted two times.

The 2019 Capbern is ripe and flamboyant, with soft edges and superb balance. It's a big wine, there is no doubt about that, and yet it also boasts terrific harmony. Dark fruit, new leather, licorice and chocolate build as the 2019 gains intensity through the mid-palate and into the finish. The 15.1% alcohol is not terribly evident.

I love the nose on the 2019 Château Capbern, a medium to full-bodied, spicy, rich, tobacco and cedar pencil-filled beauty with ripe yet building tannins, a great mix of richness and freshness, and a blockbuster of a finish. It's incredibly impressive, and while it offers pleasure even today, it deserves 5-6 years of bottle age, and I can't imagine it not evolving for two decades.
