Even better from bottle than it was from barrel. the 2015 Fonplégade is absolutely gorgeous. Rich and sumptuous. but superbly refined. the 2015 exudes class. The dark cherry. plum. espresso. rose petal and blood orange notes open up effortlessly. Time in the glass brings out the wine's underlying brightness. tension and energy. Everything about the 2015 speaks to balance. This is a superb showing from proprietors Stephen and Denise Adams and their team. which includes both Stéphane Derenoncourt and Michel Rolland.

A gorgeous and layered red showcasing blackberry. blueberry and mineral aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied and polished with impressive tannins. Shows the flamboyance of the estate. Give it time to come around. From organic grapes. Drink in 2022.

92+ Parker Punkte für den Chateau Fonplegade 2015 Saint Emilion Grand CruLisa Perrotti Brown im Februar 2018:

Made almost exclusively from Merlot with just a 5% splash of Cabernet Franc. the 2015 Fonplegade is deep garnet-purple in color with a very pretty nose of red and black currants. wild thyme. charcuterie. earth and floral notes plus a fair amount of cedary notions in the background. Medium to full-bodied. it's wonderfully elegant. fine and fresh in the mouth with arresting purity and depth. finishing just a little woody. Give it 3-5 years for the oak to marry and the fruit to come to the forefront. and drink it over the next 10 to 15+ years.

Showing spectacularly, the 2017 Chateau Canon checks in as a final blend of 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc that’s from one of the most exceptional terroirs in the appellation. Hitting 14% alcohol (the pH is 3.66), it reveals a ruby/purple hue as well as gorgeously sweet raspberries and cassis-like fruit interwoven with notes of spring flowers, rose petal, white chocolate, and spice. While it doesn’t have the massive opulence of the 2015 and 2016, it’s more classically styled as well flawlessly balanced, with a terrific sense of minerality, ultra-fine tannins, and a brilliant finish. Give bottles 5-7 years in the cellar, and it will evolve gracefully for 30-40 years. Hats off to Nicolas Audebert as well as the team of Thomas Duclos for one of the wines of the vintage!

Made of 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. the 2017 Belair Monange is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. With a little swirling. this baby comes bounding out of the glass with energetic notes of wild blueberries. Morello cherries. baked plums and black raspberries with wafts of Indian spices. lavender. garrigue and tobacco plus a hint of licorice. Medium to full-bodied. the black and blue fruit dance playfully on the palate with fantastic freshness to lift the bold flavors and a superb frame of ripe. velvety tannins. It finishes very long and with amazing zing. So tempting to drink now. but make no mistake—this is one for the long haul!

Fresh earth. truffle. sous bois and attractively ripe blueberry and plum aromas here. It’s a bold and very pure. primary wine here for now. yet this has great potential. The palate reveals beautifully ripe red-plum and cherry flavors with a powerful tannin statement that carries impressive depth and scale on the finish. Give this time. Try from 2023.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Belair Monange 2017 Saint EmilionNeal Martin. Tasting date: September 2019 | veröffentlicht Januar 2020:
The 2017 Bélair-Monange was so impressive out of barrel and now in bottle. I see no reason to alter my appreciation. It has a very intense bouquet. one that is reassuringly complex. especially in context of what was a rather ordinary growing season with copious red cherries. boysenberry. hints of iodine and a light terracotta scent. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins that are surprisingly rigid at the moment. suggesting that this will be a long term Saint-Émilion. There is a beguiling sense of symmetry. very mineral-driven towards the finish that has impressive sapidity. This comes highly recommended although it deserves five or six years in bottle. Bravo Christian and Edouard Moueix.

98+ Punkt vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Troplong Mondot 2017 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni im März 2020:
The 2017 Troplong Mondot is stunning. just as it was en primeur. Rich and ample. yet endowed with striking energy as well. the 2017 is the first vintage made by new CEO Aymeric de Gironde and consulting winemaker Thomas Duclos. The 2017 takes hold of all the senses and never lets up. All of the power that is typical of this site is evident. it seems to come so naturally. and yet picking earlier and then using a lighter hand in the cellar yielded a Troplong of uncommon energy and vibrancy. The 2017 has been nothing short of thrilling on the four occasions I have tasted it from bottle so far. What a wine!

95 Punkte vergibt Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Troplong Mondot 2017 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Troplong Mondot 2017 Saint Emilion beschreibtJeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
The 2017 Chateau Troplong Mondot continues in the new style of this estate and is based on 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc from healthy yields of 48 hectoliters per hectare. Its deep ruby/purple hue is followed by a stunning perfume of creme de cassis, black raspberries, white chocolate, crushed flowers, and a terrific sense of minerality. Flawlessly balanced, medium to full-bodied, and nicely concentrated, it shows the more elegant, classical style of the vintage beautifully. It has the texture and balance to drink brilliantly today yet will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and keep for two decades or more.

100 Punkte vom Falstaff für den Der Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 Pauillac am Gaumen der Falstaff-Verköstiger:
Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

The aromas to this are really amazing, with a potpourri of spices and dried flowers, as well as redcurrants, sweet plums and even some peaches. Full-bodied with layers of ripe fruit and ultra-fine tannins that spread across the palate in an encompassing yet always elegant and pure way. It’s succulent and unadulterated. Like crushed, perfectly ripened grapes. The length is rather endless. The tannins build. Fabulous young red. 35% in amphora and the rest in 50% new oak and 15% one-year oak. 65% cabernet sauvignon and 30% merlot, the rest cabernet franc and petit verdot. From biodynamically grown grapes. Try after 2028, but an absolute joy to taste now.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 PauillacAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 Pauillac:
The 2019 Pontet-Canet was so effusive and generous en primeur. Today, though, it is quite reticent. That won't be an issue for those who can be patient, but patience indeed will be the key here. Dark red fleshed fruit, tobacco, cedar, spice, kirsch, mint and blood orange gradually open with a bit of coaxing. Imposing tannins wrap it all together. The 2019 is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty, but it needs time.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 PauillacUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Pontet Canet 2019 Pauillac:
The 2019 Pontet Canet was picked from September 23 until October 10, finishing with the Petit Verdot, and bottled in mid-June/July. My sample, tasted at the property, was decanted. Matured in 50% new oak and 35% concrete amphora, this is endowed with an intense, enveloping bouquet of opulent blackberry and boysenberry fruit laced with crushed violet and light fig aromas, becoming more floral with aeration and revealing crushed violet petals. The palate is medium-bodied with layered black fruit, cracked black pepper, hints of pencil lead and a splash of soy. This is one of the most powerful Pauillac wines that I encountered this vintage, very juicy and with plenty of rondeur on the very spicy finish. This should give three decades of drinking pleasure.

Very lush out of the gate, with waves of gently mulled plum, blackberry and black currant fruit that roll through slowly, lined with alder, sweet tobacco, worn cedar and singed savory notes. Delivers a late tug of iron that's well-buried on a finish marked by lingering perfume, resulting in an end impression of a rich wine that's very light on its feet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2036.

The 2020 Langoa Barton has turned out superbly in bottle, offering up generous aromas of black cherries, crème de cassis, licorice and pencil shavings deftly framed by classy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, its concentrated core of ripe but vibrant fruit is framed by sweet, powdery tannins and lively acids. Beautifully balanced, it's somewhat more open out of the gates than the excellent 2019 and will offer an especially broad drinking window.t add a grippy, juicy feel to the finish, while an iron note adds cut and drive. Tasted on multiple occasions, the 2020 Château Langoa Barton comes from a mix of different sites in Saint-Julien, which makes it a great representation of the vintage and appellation. The blend is 53.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple hue to go with a beautiful bouquet of red and black cherries, currants, leafy tobacco, and cedar pencil, with a touch of damp earth that emerges with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, balanced, and elegant on the palate, it has plenty of mid-palate depth and richness, velvety tannins, and a great finish. This plush, up-front, expansive, wonderfully textured Saint-Julien will benefit from just a few years of bottle age and cruise for two decades. It's the finest example from this château I've tasted.
