95 Puntke vom Wine Advocate für denLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Fonplegade 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru wie folgt:

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Fonplegade needs no convincing, charging out of the gate with bold notions of black cherry preserves, mulberries and ripe, juicy black plums, leading to suggestions of Indian spices, dried roses and smoked meats plus a touch of tar. The medium to full-bodied palate is beautifully crafted, dripping with poise and sophistication, draped in plush tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering black cherry note. A very polished showing!

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Fonplegade 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru wie folgt:

The 2018 Fonplégade is super-elegant and refined. Some of the youthful exuberance the 2018 showed from barrel has naturally subsided, revealing a Saint-Émilion of real finesse and nuance. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, blood orange and cinnamon are all beautifully layered. Even so, the 2018 was a bit more impressive en primeur. Hopefully, it is just closed post-bottling. We will see.

Seit einigen Jahren nun ist das Chateau Dalem für uns die Benchmark in Fronsac, daran ändert auch der JG 2018 nichts. 93+ Punkte

A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Dalem has a deep garnet-purple color and compelling notes of blackberry preserves, wild blueberries and ripe, juicy black plums, with hints of dark chocolate, licorice and black olives. The full-bodied palate (15% alcohol) appears bright and fresh with the lively black fruits framed by soft, velvety tannins, finishing long and savory. Nicely done!

92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Dalem 2018 FronsacAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Dalem 2018 Fronsac wie folgt:
The 2018 Dalem is quite backward on the nose, opening gradually to offer blackberry, licorice and very light menthol aromas; you just want to give the aromatics a polite kick up the backside. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Quite juicy in the mouth, delivering black cherries and cassis toward the well-defined, persistent finish. Excellent, but give it 24 months in bottle, because the nose needs time to find its mojo.

I loved the 2019 Clos Du Roy from barrel, and it doesn’t disappoint from bottle. Ripe black cherries, chocolaty herbs, licorice, and graphite are just some of its nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a round, layered texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. The 2019 Beauséjour (Duffau Lagarrosse) has turned out beautifully in bottle. Wafting from the glass with aromas of wild blueberries, raspberries, violets, rose petals and forest floor, framed by a deft application of creamy new oak, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and layered, with a lively core of fruit, bright acids and fine, powdery tannins, concluding with a long, precise, saline finish. It displays all the structural refinement and vibrancy of flavor that this sector of Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau is capable of.

96+ Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse 2019 Saint EmilionJeb Dunnuck im April 2022:
From one of my favorite châteaux on the Right Bank, the 2019 Château Beauséjour (Duffau-Lagarrosse) is 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc brought up in a mix of new and used barrels. It's a tighter, more closed 2019, yet it offers beautiful purity and focus in its cassis and black raspberry fruits as well as notes of tobacco leaf, graphite, chocolate, and chalky minerality. Rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and again, with this remarkable purity and precision, it has enough tannins to warrant 4-6 years in the cellar and will be incredibly long-lived. It's a beautiful Saint-Emilion. It’s worth pointing out that the 2019 is the vintage bottled by Nicolas Thienpont and starting in 2021, the estate is in the hands of Josephine Duffau-Lagarrosse.

The 2019 Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse opens with good intensity, but its persistence trails off on the mid-palate and finish. I don't see the energy and vibrancy that are such signatures and that were quite present en primeur. Ultimately, the 2019 feels rather hollow on both the mid-palate and finish. Tasted two times.

95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Und Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse, matured in 60% new oak, has maintained wonderful purity on the nose of ebullient red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit, very elegant and poised and perhaps delivering less of the blue fruit element than I noticed from barrel. The cohesive palate conveys exquisite balance, fine, slightly granular tannins and a very subtle ferrous note toward the finish. This is an understated wine that is endowed with ample freshness, and I can see it aging beautifully for 30 or more years.

The 2019 Canon has turned out brilliantly in bottle, wafting from the glass with complex aromas of raspberries and red plums mingled with notions of raw cocoa, dark chocolate, pencil shavings and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and multidimensional, it's one of the most refined, elegant right bank wines of the vintage, with a deep core of fruit, beautifully refined tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish. This is a superb achievement for Nicolas Audebert and his team.

White pepper, gesso and crushed stone. It’s full-bodied and layered with tightness and focus and a long finish. It’s solid and stalwart, as usual. Reminds me of the very special 1955. The 2019 Canon is creamy and layered. A wine of immense charm and sensuality, the 2019 is immediately appealing today, but also clearly has the potential to age for many decades. The 2019 is not as exuberant as most recent vintages, and yet its balance is simply magnificent. Readers can expect an aristocratic Saint-Émilion that is holding so much in reserve. Patience is key. Tasted three times.

97 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Canon 2019 Saint EmilionUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) über den Chateau Canon 2019 Saint Emilion:

The 2019 Canon has a fine, detailed nose of blackberry, raspberry, scorched earth and just a touch of crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation, poised and focused, yet serious. This is a Canon with breeding, but it is more of a long-term prospect compared to the 2018. A second sample at the château showed a bit more depth on the saline finish, and based on that example, I think this will become an outstanding Saint-Émilion.

Violet, cassis, plum purée and blackberry reduction notes are layered together without being compacted, giving each space to breath and unfurl while letting the fine lacy thread of chalky minerality to flow in between. 13 Jan, 2022 – Blueberries and cocoa powder, as well as lavender and blackberries on the nose. Full-bodied with tight, focused tannins that are lean and racy, in a clear way. Just a hint of tar and ash at the end. Chewy and fine. Best after 2027.

90 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Antonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Plince 2019 Pomerol:
The 2019 Plince is a burly, rustic Pomerol. There is certainly a good bit of depth, but the tannins are coarse and very much present in the wine's overall feel. Dark cherry, plum, leather, licorice and game build into the hearty, resonant finish.

90 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Und Neal Martin (Vinous) beschreibt den Chateau Plince 2019 Pomerol:
The 2019 Plince has a well-defined nose of blackberry, blueberry and quite potent incense/potpourri aromas that flourish with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, and quite strict and linear, perhaps displaying just a bit of hardness toward the briny finish. Afford this 3–4 years in bottle – it has more to give.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Cote de Baleau 2019 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Cote de Baleau 2019 Saint Emilion:

The 2019 Côte de Baleau is classy, super-polished and ready to offer pleasure. Bright floral and spice accents lead into a core of sweet red/purplish berry fruit, spice, mocha, tobacco, licorice and incense. The 2019 has gained a bit of weight in élevage, but it remains gracious and understated in bearing. I loved it.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denUnd Neal Martin (Vineous) zum Chateau Cote de Baleau 2019 Saint Emilion:

The 2019 Côte de Baleau takes quite a few minutes to settle in the glass. It has a very concentrated bouquet of black cherries, mulberry, touches of licorice and hints of graphite. The medium-bodied palate offers sappy black fruit and fine definition. Very focused, with a sensual and substantial finish. Superb.

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Ockerrandaufhellung.

Langanhaltendes Finale. 2024-2039
