Die 2020 La Lagune hat sich wunderbar entwickelt und bietet Aromen von Cassis, dunklen Beeren, erdigem Boden und süßen Gewürzen, gefolgt von einem mittel- bis vollmundigen, samtigen, vielschichtigen Gaumen, der eine ausgezeichnete Tiefe und Konzentration aufweist, strukturiert um pudrige Tannine, und endet mit einem duftenden, Veilchen-geprägten Finish. Dies ist eine starke Leistung und eine würdige, etwas kräftigere Fortsetzung des sinnlichen, bezaubernden 2019er Jahrgangs.

Ein fokussierter und herzhafter Rotwein mit schlanken und straffen Tanninen. Sehr präzise. Mittelkräftig mit frischen Kräutern, Johannisbeeren, Brombeeren und Austernschalen. Auch Steine und getrocknete Blumen. Schönes Finish. Die Tannine sind rund und vollständig. Bereits zugänglich. Aus biodynamisch angebauten Trauben. Besser nach 2025.  

Rauchige schwarze Früchte, Tabak, kiesiger Boden und würzige Eiche kommen alle aus dem 2020 Château La Lagune, einem der konzentriertesten, strukturiertesten Haut-Médocs überhaupt. Mittelkräftig am Gaumen mit ausgezeichneter Gesamtbalance, aufbauenden Tanninen und einem großartigen Finish. Er sollte für 4-5 Jahre vergessen werden und wird sich für zwei Jahrzehnte oder mehr entwickeln, wenn gut gelagert.

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, opaker Kern, zarte Randaufhellung. Reife Pflaumen, schwarze Kirschen, etwas Nugat und Feigen, feine Kräuterwürze. Saftig, frische rote Kirschen, lebendiger, mineralischer Stil, runde Tannine, bleibt haften, ein balancierter Speisenwein mit Potenzial.

I continue to love the wines from Cantemerle, which is located in the Haut-Médoc. The 2020 Château Cantemerle is deeply hued with lots of Bing cherry, tobacco, and cedary notes that flow to a medium-bodied, elegant, yet concentrated 2020 with fine tannins and a great finish. Another classic vintage from this estate, this beauty is going to evolve for 15+ years if well-stored.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2020 Cantemerle reveals a great intensity and purity of blackcurrant cordial, stewed plums and black raspberry scents, plus hints of dried Provence herbs, Indian spices and woodsmoke. The medium-bodied palate delivers approachable chewy tannins and just enough freshness to support the savory-laced black fruit flavors, finishing with an herbal lift.

The 2020 Clos Manou has turned out brilliantly. Unfurling in the glass with aromas of dark berries, plums, spices and licorice, it's medium to full-bodied, with a deep core of vibrant fruit framed by sweet, powdery tannins, concluding with a long, violet-inflected finish. Seamlessly constructed, it's a terrific example of haute couture winemaking that would embarrass numerous classified growths.

Françoise and Stéphane Dief's 16.5 hectares of vines in the northern part of the Médoc were decimated in 2020 by frost, and their 2020 Clos Manou comes from dismal yields of just 26 hectoliters per hectare. The blend is 57% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc. It has an incredible sense of minerality and almost salinity to go with impressive red and black fruits, notes of smoked tobacco and flowers, medium to full body, and integrated acidity. It's clearly an outstanding wine that's going to offer loads of pleasure over the coming decade or so.

Jeff Leve im März 2023:

The floral bouquet is what you initially notice before moving on to its licorice, tobacco leaf, espresso, and chocolate-covered plum notes. On the palate, the wine is seductive with its silky textures, and opulent nature. In the finish, the wine feels as good on the palate as it tastes. This is in contention for the best vintage of Dalem I have ever tasted. Drink from 2023-2038.

Das Château La Mission in Lalande-de-Pomerol gehört seit mehreren Generationen zur Familie Garde-Lasserre, die auch Eigentümer von Clos René und Moulinet-Lasserre in Pomerol ist.

Die Merlots und Cabernets Francs befinden sich im südwestlichen Teil der Appellation am Rande der berühmten Pomerol-Appellation und sind auf einem ausgezeichneten Tonterroir mit eisenhaltiger und schlammiger Unterlage gepflanzt. Dank eines Durchschnittsalters der Reben von 40 Jahren und sorgfältigem Weinbau (manuelle Ernte) bietet das Château La Mission Weine mit Aromen reifer Früchte mit einem reichen, seidigen und charmanten Gaumen, der bereits in jungen Jahren zugänglich ist.

Der Name „La Mission“ stammt aus der Zeit der Kreuzzüge, als die Ritter auf ihrem Weg in weiter entfernte Länder des Mittelmeers durch die Region Pomerol zogen. Es war üblich, dass sie, als sie anhielten, vor dem Kreuz der Mission beteten, das noch auf dem Grundstück anwesend war.

It shows lots of limestone character, and I suspect it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age. It should evolve nicely through 2032.

Der mittelkräftige Körper, etwas schlanker als andere, zeigt eine frische, klare Struktur und endet mit einem erfrischenden Finish. Er prognostiziert, dass der Wein über 12-15 Jahre hinweg gut trinkbar sein wird.

James Suckling vergibt 93 Punkte und beschreibt Aromen von schwarzen Johannisbeeren, schwarzen Kirschen, Kakao, Pinienkernen, gerösteten Gewürzen und Nussschalen. Der mittelkräftige Körper zeigt abgerundete, polierte Tannine und eine feine Textur, die in ein mineralisches und doch saftiges Finish übergeht. Er empfiehlt den Genuss ab 2024.

Yves Beck bewertet den Senejac mit 90 Punkten und lobt die Präzision und Raffinesse des Weins. Er beschreibt eine schöne Harmonie zwischen den Ausbau-Noten und den Aromen von schwarzen Fruchtkonfitüren. Mit einem körperreichen Charakter und sanften, griffigen Tanninen sowie einer strukturierten Textur wird dieser Wein empfohlen, um noch einige Jahre in der Kellerei zu reifen. Die Trinkreife sieht er von 2025 bis 2035. Insgesamt wird der Senejac 2020 von verschiedenen Kritikern hoch gelobt und als ein Wein mit großem Potenzial und Reifungspotenzial beschrieben.

This is classic Listrac that should age with style.

This is very spicy with lots of crushed sea salt and cloves. Dark fruit, chocolate and blackberries. Very round, yet chewy. A luxurious red from this appellation. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc.

The 2020 Joanin Bécot was affected by a hailstorm in May which resulted in some Cabernet Franc being parsed out from the blend, so this year there is half the normal production. It has quite a dense and quite earthy nose, introverted black fruit mixed with potpourri and traces of orange zest, the latter becoming more prominent with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, gritty tannins with a smudge of dark chocolate towards the sandy finish. It needs a little more flesh around the bones, but that should come during its barrel maturation.

Aromas of raspberries, crème de cassis, cigar wrapper and loamy soil introduce the 2020 La Tour Carnet, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and polished wine that's more harmonious and better balanced than Magrez's Grands Chênes. This large estate has eaten up many of the Haut-Médoc's non-classified growths over the past decade to arrive at a surface area of over 130 hectares today.
